Chicken Love

Our babies are given chicken feed, fresh leafy veggies, worms, and heaps of kisses daily.  We shut them up at night in their coops, which is when they roost closely together and rest up for their mornings.

02

Good Morning!

Each morning we let them outside so they can enjoy the sunshine and fresh air.  Our roosters, Ethan, Sasha, Church, and Bert, all crow to welcome the sun and offer protection for the ladies.

Egg Collection

Every night, when we put the ladies and gents up, we collect their eggs and bring them home.  Here we wash them with antibacterial soap, dry them, package them, refrigerate them, and then deliver them to you!

Farm Egg FAQs

  • Why are my eggs different colors and sizes?
Each breed has varying egg colors and shapes that range from white to blue, unmarked to speckled, and large to small!

  • What breeds of chickens do you have?
Barred Rock, Ameraucana, Rhode Island Red, Polish Bantam, Isa Brown, Golden Sex Link, Easter Egger, Silkie, Polish, Black Sex Link, Columbian Wyandotte, Red Sussex, Golden Comet, Australorp, Leghorn, Delaware, Dark Cornish, and Golden Wyandotte.

  • Why do I have a red spot in my egg yolk?
Our chicken babies produce approximately an egg a day.  That's a lot of work in a little amount of time.  That red spot means that a vessel ruptured during the laying process.  To read more about why this happens with fresh eggs and not commercial, click here.

  • How old are the eggs I receive?
At most, they are a few days old.  Oftentimes, you'll have some from that morning!

  • How long are farm-fresh eggs 'fresh'?
Three to five weeks in your fridge; up to a year in your freezer.
